Beach Trippin'... May 22nd - May 27th, 2009

This week Mommy and Daddy planned a beach trip for just the three of us. We left out early on Friday morning so that I would sleep for as long of the drive as possible. I'm glad! I don't know how far we went while I was asleep, but we just kept driving and driving and driving even after I woke up!

After a long day, we finally made it to Myrtle Beach; then we had to find a camp ground! Most of them were crowded so we decided to stay at the KOA campground for a couple nights. Boy was that a mistake! At least that's what Mommy said; personally, I loved it. I got to stay outside for two entire days straight, play in the dirt, and get into all sorts of things! (I think that's part of why Mom didn't like it. She also says she didn't like the people that played super loud music and that woke you up at the crack of dawn.)

I loved experiencing the Ocean. I know I saw it when I was younger, but now I could actually play in it! Every time I could, I made a beeline for the ocean.
Daddy also let me help him fly his kite. We did that a lot! It was really neat.
Here I am just chilling at the campsite. Daddy found me this cool chair before we came for a dollar and a half! Mommy liked best when I was sitting in this chair, because otherwise she had to watch me every second. For some reason, she didn't like it when I sampled the dirt.
See our tent... Daddy fixed us a fan to use at night to try to block out some of the noise. After two nights of camping, Mommy and Daddy couldn't take the dueling cars of loud music anymore, and the decided to get a hotel. We booked a night at Litchfield resort, where they spent their honeymoon, and we ended up staying there the rest of the trip! Mommy loved it and said it was so relaxing. I liked it too because I got to play in a really awesome kiddie water park. I hope we go back every year! Daddy is already trying to teach me how to surf. I picked these moves up on my own.

Nothing like a snack on the beach! I just wasn't a fan of the sand taste, but Mom says that's all part of being a kid at the beach. That and sand in your pants.
Here I am posing for Mom at the beach. This is her favorite photo from the trip.

We did a lot of fun things while we were at the beach. We went for walks, played in the sand, and shopped some too. Mommy and Daddy said it was the best vacation ever, and they can't wait to do it again! Here we are right before we left. I was trying to talk Dad into staying another day. Can you tell?

We Moved!
May 1, 2009

At the beginning of May, Mommy, Daddy, and I moved to Greeneville. They wanted me to grow up away from the big city and to have plenty of space to run around in. They also want me to learn lots of responsibility by working on the Papaw's big farm. The space to run around in sounds okay with me, but I'm not to sure about this working thing. I mean, I don't mind helping Mom with the laundry occasionally, but putting up hay! and working in the garden! Well, maybe I'll grow to love it.

Daddy let me sit in this big truck he and Mommy loaded all our things into. Nana and Papa came to help us move on Friday, and after not too long we were on our way to the new house.

I wanted to ride in the big truck, but instead, I had to ride with Mommy.

Here I am playing at our new house. This was my Mommy's great-Aunt's house, and we are going to live here while we build a new house on Papaw's farm.

I started walking really good the first week we were here. You can't stop me from walking now! I have so much space to explore.

It took me a couple weeks to get used to this place, but I'm so happy because I get to play with my cats again. Here is Mommy and Daddy on the day they sold the house. It's not our house anymore! Mommy was sad, but we are all happy to start building our new house.

Week 54 & 55.... What a zoo!
April 13th - April 26th, 2009

In this two weeks, I turned one! Can you beleive it! I hit my first big milestone. Okay, not really, I've had lots of milestones. At my age, everything is a milestone: the first time I smile, sit-up, crawl, pull up. Basically, it's pretty easy to impress these parents of mine.

I LOVE bath time. I love any kind of water, and I beg to get in any time I see some! Mom and I have great talks while I'm taking a bath. She teaches me about ducks and boats and all sorts of things.

On Saturday the 18th, we went to take some photos of me in the tulips at the University of TN garden. Mom loves taking photos there.
We also went to the zoo! It was so exciting because it was my first trip! Here I am with a turkey. Dad tells me to get pretty familiar with what they look like because he might take me hunting when I get older.
I also got to pet a goat! It was really cool. After we left the zoo we were going to go get something to eat. I feel asleep on the way home though, and mom and dad decided they were too tired as well, so we just went home. We got home at 6, and I was so tired I slept the rest of the night! Mom and Dad decided they should take me to the zoo more often.
Sunday, I was officially one year old! It was raining, but Mom snapped a few photos of me inside anyways.
Here I am making faces at Dad. He's pretty crazy.

The next Friday, Uncle Jeremy and Aunt Kristin came to visit. They hung out with us for a while, and then took me to Aunt Stephanie's house with them. Mom and Dad were going to a concert (Whatever that is) that night. I had a blast with my Aunts and Uncles. We went for a walk outside, and I didn't want to come inside at all!

Mom and Dad picked me up after their concert, and we headed back to Knoxville. We had a long drive to Alabama the next day!

Saturday, we had Bruce Family photos to take at my great-grandmothers house. I have all sorts of cousins I didn't remember! Even a new baby cousin too. I had a great time playing with all the kids but started getting cranky at the end because I really needed a nap.
Over the weekend, I also got to visit my great-granny. She gave me coke, but I didn't like it and spit it out. Mom was glad; she wasn't there and wasn't very happy about her giving me coke! But what can you say to a great-grandmother!

That was what happened when I turned one! From now on Mom says she's just going to update my website when something exciting happens... which is usually pretty often. We'll see.
