Weeks 44 & 45... Measles, Rubella, or Allergic Reactions

Monday, Daddy was off work. Mommy and Daddy met with a Real estate agent and put our house up for sale; we are going to move to Greeneville to help Papaw with the farm. They really want me to grow up to learn to be responsible and know how to work hard; also, they want me to have a big yard to play in, and Daddy says we'll get a puppy after we move there too.
Mommy read me a story that afternoon, and I started pointing to things in the book.
Tuesday, we went to Grandma and Papaw's. Mommy had a dentist appointment at her old dentist, so Grandma kept me while she went. Mommy told me she didn't have any cavities. I don't know what those are, but she was pretty happy not to have any. It came a really bad storm that afternoon, and Great-Nana really didn't want us to drive home; Mommy wanted to get home very badly though, and we headed home anyways. The storm only lasted about 2 minutes and turned out to be not bad at all. We pretty much had blue skies the whole way home!
On Wednesday, Mommy took me to the doctor because I had a real funny spot on top of my head. It started out looking like pimples, but it turned out to be a cold sore that I got from Daddy. I had to be on antibiotics and antivirals, as well as a couple of topical creams.
Thursday, I said duck for the first time! Well, I say it like "duh", but I know that's my rubber ducky. Also, on Saturday, I started shaking my head no to things. Mommy thinks it's so cute, but Daddy doesn't like it very much.
Here I am, on the day I turned ten months old.
See me with my rubber ducky?
Peek-a-boo!
The next Thursday, I had a rash pop us. We had gone for a walk, and Mommy thought it was a heat rash because she had me dressed so warmly. Daddy had off Friday again, but he ended up having to take care of me and Mommy. Mommy got the flu! My rash was REALLY bad too, and Mommy was really worried about me. Mommy called the nurse, and she told her to give me a soothing bath, and come in Monday if it got any worse.
It kept getting worse through the day on Friday, and that night, Daddy though I might have the measles. I had a combination of the symptoms of measles and german measles (rubella), and Mommy got really worried. Daddy said we'd go to a clinic in the morning, and Mommy kept an eye on me for the rest of the night. Mommy and Daddy called my grandparents and learned that most of them had measles before, so Mommy didn't worry quite as much.
Saturday, Daddy couldn't find a clinic, and so we called the emergency room; they told us to come in if my temperature went over 102 degrees. Mommy decided to go talk to the pharmacist, and he told her that I had probably had an allergic reaction to penicillin. After Mommy learned that she felt much better. He told her I'd be just fine, but to let the doctor know about my reaction.
Mommy was still really sick, so Daddy continued to take care of us the rest of the weekend. He's such a good Daddy!
